220/20 KV substation inaugurated in Southwest Kabul

Da Afghanistan Breshan Sherkat (DABS), Afghanistan’s national utility company, officially inaugurated the construction work of a 220/20KV substation in the southwest of Kabul, Arghandi area.

Costing USD 21.3mn, the project is funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and is subcontracted to Siemens Company to complete the construction work.

The substation has two transformers, each with a capacity of transforming 63 Mega Volt amperes electricity. T

Currently, the substation is intended to provide electricity to Kabul; it will be extended to other provinces including Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Zabul, Kandahar, Loger, Pakteya and Khost.

The project is expected to be completed and ready for utilization within 2 years.
