3 road building projects launched in Jawzjan

3 road projectsWork on the asphalting and graveling of 3 main roads in Khanqah district of Jawzjan has officially begun.

The uplift projects, costing USD 1mn, are funded by the Swedish government and the Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.

“The 4-km road connecting the capital of the district to Mazar-Sheberghan highway is going to be asphalted. The 9-km road of the district that connects Khanqah district with Aqcha district is going to be graveled. The projects are estimated to cost about USD 1mn and will be funded by the Swedish government” said District Governor Mohebullah at the inaugural ceremony.

He added that the third road was a 4km road that connects one of the villages to the district. Costing USD 100,000, the third road is funded by the Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.

The projects would help address the transportation problems of the residents in the aforementioned areas.
