33 schools in Helmand’s Garamser district reopen

HelmandThe Pajhwok Afghan News reports the reopening of 33 schools in Garamser district of Helmand province that were shut down due to the rebels fighting in the area.

Nearly 8,100 students, including 636 girls, are studying in the schools across the town, the district education officer, Haji Abdul Nasir, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

District chief, Ayub Omar, gave the credit for the reopening of the schools to the residents of the district for cooperating with the government in providing security to the area.
