36 infrastructure projects completed in Kapisa

The National Solidarity Program (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) has completed 36 infrastructure projects in districts of Hesa-e-Awal Kohistan, Hesa-e-Dowom Kohistan, Nijrab, Tagab and in a number of areas related to Mahmood Raqi, the center of Kapisa province.

The projects were implemented at a cost of  AFN 40,000,000 with 10% contribution from the local communities.

According to NSP Provincial Manager in Kapisa province, these development projects include the construction of five community centers, 120 culverts, 1,888-meters long retaining walls, a 215-meter gabion wall, a water reservoir, concreting of 356 meters of sidewalks and excavation of 36 wells equipped with hand pumps.

Approximately, 6,829 families in various communities have benefited from these projects.

Since its inception in Kapisa province, the NSP has been able to execute 2,309 projects in different sectors such as transport, water and sanitation, irrigation, power, livelihoods, education, etc while the work on another 216 is currently in progress.
