60 women complete weaving profession in Badghis

weaving womenA short term project aimed at improving women’s live in Badghis was launched by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development with financial collaboration from the European Union.

Costing more than USD 57,000, the workshop provided weaving profession and literacy courses to 60 destitute women in the province, said Zubaida Mohsen, regional head of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Ministry.

Upon completion of the workshop, participants received a weaving device from the Ministry.

Most women in Badghis are facing poverty due to illiteracy. The province is in need of more of such training programs for the women.
