Afghan carpets secure 1st position in Tibetan Carpets Int’l Exhibition
The winners were Haji Hamid Rauf from Qadir Rauf Ltd and Mohammad Rasoul Kazimi from Kazimi Allahdad Ltd from among 15 Afghan carpet companies that had participated in the exhibition.
The traders also signed contracts worth USD 1mn with their Chinese counterparts for exporting carpets.
The Tibetan Carpets International Exhibition is held every year since 2004 and brings together carpet makers from different countries under one roof. As the only international handmade carpet exhibition in China, the China (Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition provides a big show stage for the Tibetan carpet of Qinghai, promoting the communication between domestic and abroad handmade carpet industry.
According to the data, the Tibetan carpet in Qinghai accounts for 91 percent of national production. The Tibetan carpet industry has become one of the ten advanced distinctive industries in Qinghai Province.
