Afghan investors present support policy to tackle economic issues

ACCI conferenceAt an event organized by the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) investors presented a support policy calling for measures aimed at minimizing the country’s economic challenges.

In the draft policy, the investors have urged the government to offer a ten year tax exemption for those investing in Afghanistan and to provide land and marketing opportunities for their businesses.

This comes as concerns over unemployment and capital flight have plagued the Afghan private sector.

Present at the conference was Afghan Finance Minister Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal who promised to take the matter to the cabinet meeting and address the investors’ issues.

Afghanistan’s economy is witnessing a drastic downslide mainly resulting from the impasse on the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA), which decides the magnitude of the foreign forces presence in Afghanistan.
