Afghanistan is hosting a 2-day international summit in Dubai city with an aim to attract investors in the energy sector of Afghanistan.
Organized by the US Embassy in Kabul and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Afghan Ministry of Energy and Water, the summit will see representatives from more than 120 international companies and representatives from the US, China, Turkey and India.
This comes as the Afghan government is focusing its economic policies on boosting Afghanistan’s domestic income, specifically through investments in natural resources of Afghanistan.
Last month, the Afghan government announced signing of 86 mining contracts with different private sector companies.
The contracts involved development of deposits of gas, salt, coal, marble, talc, chromite, plaster, precious and semi-precious stones in 34 provinces of Afghanistan.
