An agriculture research and training center, funded by Korean Provincial Reconstruction Team, was launched in central Parwan province on Tuesday.
The project, estimated to cost 153.9 million AFN, would take 11 months to complete.
Agriculture and Livestock Minister Mohammad Asif Rahimi said that the center is constructed over a five-acre of land and would have separated blocs for agriculture training, research and other research programs.
The center would include other facilities like an artificial insemination center, packaging, storage, green houses, dining rooms, a mosque and car parking.
Mr. Rahimi said the center would be able to train 1,200 farmers each year, with trained mentors coming from Kabul and Korea.
Minister Rahimi was hopeful that the center would bring about a revolution in the country’s agriculture sector.
