An overview of Ministry of Finance activities in 2011-2012

Senior staff of the Ministry of Finance held their annual activity overview meeting in Kabul Intercontinental hotel for two day on 8th May 2012.

Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal Minister of Finance, Deputy Ministers of Finance, Administration, Custom and Revenue, Policy, Director of the Afghan Brishna Shirkat, Provincial Customs Directors, Mostofees and a number of MoF employees participated in the meeting.

The main purpose of this gathering was an overview on Ministry of Finance activities in 2011-2012, achievements and find solution to challenges.  They analyze the present situation, identify strengths, weaknesses and threats lying before their activities and finally to suggest the means of improving reforms and to present new plans for the coming years.

In his opening statement Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal Minister of Finance pointed the domestic revenues that increase from 41bilion AFG to 100 Bn in three year and remarked it a great achievement. He stressed on improvement of Afghanistan economical infrastructure during transit period. Dr. Zakhilwal said that Afghanistan is going toward self-sufficient, even though some economists have opinion that Afghanistan will be faced economical crisis during transit process. He assured for afghan government preparation for Tokyo conference and stressed on anti- corruption.

Dr. Zakhilwal proud on Ministry of Finance activities that fought against corruption which are praised by international community else.

In the second section of the meeting General Directors and representatives of Mastofyats and customs departments presented their informative presentations. The Provincial Customs Directors and Provincial Mustofees suggested their suggestions for better activities, achievements and future plans.

The Board of Directors remarked their suggestions for better implementation in the future.

At the end of the meeting Dr. Zakhilwal Minister of Finance awarded appreciation letters to legible employees and hope that services providing will be better in the ministry of finance.
