Attorney General investigates Afghan companies accused of price hikes

gas prices 2The Afghan Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MoCI) has referred two liquid gas importing companies to the Attorney General for their involvement in price hiking of gas in the market.

Delegations have been dispatched to three ports of the country, mainly Herat, Hairataan and Aqina to investigate those committing hoarding.

Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Association of Afghanistan said the companies have done nothing illegal; however, it is unethical to resort to a price hike to defeat the rival companies.

Afghan citizens, on the other hand, are suffering from high gas price which has jumped to 150AFN per kilo.
