Bamyan residents protest against load shedding

Hundreds of Bamiyani residents staged protest against power outages from 7pm to 9:30pm in the capital of central Bamyan province on Sunday.

The protestors chanted slogans against the government and the United States, demanding that their power outage problem should be resolved soon.

Some of the protestors turned violence, smashing windowpanes of police vehicles and ransacking the haj department.

Four participants were detained after they tried to capture weapons from police.

According to police spokesman Ahmad Ali Yarzada, some gangsters misused students and incited them to violence at the rally.
