Building for girl’s school inaugurated in Kunar

Pajhwok Afghan News reports that a newly constructed building with 14 classrooms, 10 toilets and drinking water system was inaugurated on Tuesday in the Lamatak area of Narang district in eastern Kunar province.

Built at a cost of USD 213,000, the building was funded by the United States Provincial Reconstruction Team.

Many schools in the province lack facilities and learning environment.

Kunar’s Governor Syed Fazullah Wahidi called on the education ministry and donor agencies to invest in the construction of school buildings in the province. There are 182,000 students, including 80,000 female students, studying in 471 schools in Kunar.
