Dairy and milk collection center established in Maidan Wardak

livestockFunded by the Turkish government, a dairy and milk collection center has been established in Maidan Wardak province at a cost of USD 137,000.

Spokesperson to the governor, Ataullah Khogiyani, said the center consists of 9 rooms and is equipped with the proper facilities for preparing dairy.

He added the center collects about six tons of milk daily from livestock owners and prepares dairy products such as cheese and yogurt.

“The center will help boost livestock and have a positive impact on the economy of the province,” said Mr. Khogiyani.

The inauguration ceremony of the center was attended by Turkish Defense Minister Ismat Yalmas, Turkish Ambassador to Afghanistan Basaat Oztarak and Head of the Provincial Council Mohammad Rafi Wardak.
