The National Solidarity Program (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) has completed development projects in Kapisa and Uruzgan provinces.
As many as 31 utility projects have been implemented in Mahmmod Raqi, Hesae Awal-e-Kohistan, Hesae Dowum Kohistan and Nijrab districts of Kapisa provinces at a total cost of AFN 41,000,000 with 10% contribution from local communities.
According to NSP Provincial Manager in Kapisa province, these projects include the construction of three social centers, a 2,383-meters long retaining wall, a 1,416-meter long gabion wall, a protection wall, 76 culverts and 1,810 meters of paved sidewalks .
Approximately, 7,157 families in different communities had an opportunity to gain access to basic human needs upon completion of these projects.
The NSP has completed 21 projects in the districts of Tarin Kot, Chora and Gizab of Uruzgan province at a total cost of AFN 39,504,000 with 10% contribution from local communities.
According to NSP Provincial Manager in Uruzgan province, these projects include the construction of protection walls, hand pumps, culverts, retaining wall, canal and road graveling.
The NSP has been able to execute 2,340 uplift projects in Kapisa and 1,339 projects in Uruzgan in different sectors including transport, water and sanitation, irrigation, power, livelihoods and education. And, work on hundreds of other projects in both provinces is currently in progress in various communities.
