Yusuf Ali, head of Global Welfare Organization said: “We have identified and registered young people who could not afford the cost for wedding celebrations.”

At the end of the ceremony five hundred dollars were paid to each couple and also some home appliance were gifted by the Global Welfare Organization.

Mohammed Amin, one of the grooms said: “I am very happy that today I got married without paying the exorbitant cost of the wedding and start a new phase of life.”

Muhammad Amin added “it enables poor people to have a successful married life with low wedding cost.”

He said that the groom has to spend nearly 800, 000 Afghanis in a wedding ceremony, which is less likely affordable by many.

It is worth to mention that last year some group marriage ceremonies were held in Daikondi ,the neighboring province of Bamyan, with financial support from welfare organizations.
