German-Afghan Long-Term Cooperation

The German Government has announced an annual aid worth 150 million Euros to Afghanistan. According to the Government Media and Information Center, GMIC,  Hamid Karazai conveyed his appreciation for support of Germany during the meeting with German Foreign Minister, Guido Westerwelle .

President Karzai expressed his gratitude for the munificent aid from the people and government of Germany and acknowledged that Germany has helped Afghanistan in every aspect since the last 10 years and has hosted many conferences. And, now Germany once again has generously announced a support of 150 Million Euros annually, said president Karzai. During this meeting President Karzai and German Foreign Minister discussed the current challenges Afghanistan is facing and the upcoming Chicago and Tokyo conference.

President Karzai expressed his gratitude for the munificent aid from the people and government of Germany

The German Foreign Minister considered the signing of the long-term cooperation between the two countries a significant step for the Chicago conference.
