Hundreds of families benefit from welfare projects in Nangarhar
With a cost of 8,867,000 AFN, seven projects of the National Solidarity Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/NSP) were recently completed in Shinwari and Ghanikhil districts of Nangarhar province.
According to the provincial manager of NSP in Nangarhar province, these development projects included the construction of irrigation canals, retaining walls, sidewalks and excavation of wells. Nine hundred families have benefited from these development projects.
Since its inception, the NSP has expended 2,862,895,770 AFN for implementation of 3,760 development projects in various sectors such as transport, power, irrigation, water supply, education, health and livelihood. Thousands of residents of Nangarhar province have benefited from these projects so far.
Australia has pledged to give USD 25mn in aid for reconstruction projects in Uruzgan province in the next three years.
