Implementation of development projects creates job opportunities in Helmand

helmand jpgAs many as 112 development projects are being implemented in Southern Helmand province.

According to Pajhwok Afghan News, the projects include retaining walls, bridges, water controlling gates, small streams and road construction.

The source adds the development projects form part of the stability program in Helmand province and are being executed at a cost of USD 700,000.

“The projects will create thousands of job opportunities for the locals,” PAN quotes Mohammad Umar Qanai, the rural and development director.

The projects are being implemented in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, and Greshk, Garmsir and Nadali districts.
