Improved seeds boost Ghazni wheat yield

wheatFarmers in Ghazni have witnessed 12% increase in their wheat yield this year.

Provincial Agriculture Director Sultan Hussain Abbas attributed the boost in yield to the usage of improved seeds.

He said the farmers started using improved seeds after attending different workshops on agriculture.

According to Abbas, wheat production was low last year due to use of unripe seeds and expired chemical fertilizers.

He added the government distributed seeds and fertilizers for farmers to grow wheat.

The production of the grain has also improved in Khost, Logar and Takhar.
