Inauguration of a new building for a school in Logar province

logarA new building for the boys’ school, Surkh Abad, was inaugurated Thursday in Mohammad Aghai district of Logar Province.

Head of the Ministry of Education’s Education Department Mohammad Shahpor Arab said the project is built at a cost of more than 9mn AFN with financial collaboration from the World Bank.

The school consists of 16 classrooms, eight offices, 320 chairs and desks, 10 bathrooms and water well.

Presently, about 1,000 students are studying in Surkh Abad School. With the completion of the new building, the school is able to occupy 640 more students.

Mohammad Akbar Stanekzai, Head of the Education Department in Logar, regarded the project an important stride towards development of education in the area.
