Insights and inspirations shared at TEDx Kabul event to revive Afghans

TEDx KabulA diverse group of local thought leaders from academia, civil activists and business community was presented at the TEDx Kabul event to share their passion and discuss their visions for the world.

TEDx Kabul is modeled after the famous TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design), which is a global set of conferences under the slogan “ideas worth spreading.”.

“I had two goals, one was to show the world what kind of people we are, and to make every youth believe that we can change this,” said Afghan Taekwondo practitioner and silver medalist, Nesar Ahmad Bahawi.

The participants reflected on the progress made in the country and the challenges encountered.

“We have changed a lot – 2014 will not be 1989 and Kabul is not going to be a city under siege,” the leader of the Rawand Sabz Party Amrullah Saleh said. “The discipline of our army will not fade away.”

This was the second meeting of TEDx in Afghanistan that was aimed at reviving Afghans, spurring enthusiasm and stimulating deep discussion and action.
