Italy Pledges 5 million Euros to the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development

Italy is ready to contribute as much as 5 million Euros to the National Solidarity Program (NSP) of the Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.

In a meeting with Nasir Ahmad Durrani, the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Minister, Luciano Pezzotti, the Italian Ambassador to Afghanistan said that “Italy attaches great importance to the initiatives and programs undertaken by the new Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in the area of community development and we will continue to support this important work.”

Mr. Pezzotti said that this amount is to support the rehabilitation and development of rural communities in Afghanistan. The Ambassador assured the Minister that Italy is committed to fulfill its pledges.

In response, Minister Durrani thanked Italy for their ongoing assistance to Afghanistan in general, and in particular to the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development. He also assured the ambassador that “The leadership team of the Ministry has the strong will to tackle the development issues facing the rural population in Afghanistan”.
