Lack of drinking water a major issue in Parwan Province

Majority of residents in Parwan province are all set to hold a demonstration against the government for its failure to resolve the issue of lack of drinking water in the province.

The residents have complained that the government collected about 6,000 AFN from every house in the city of Charikar, center of the province, a year ago to deliver drinking water. However, till date not a single house has received drinking water.

According to the residents, it is the state’s responsibility by law to meet their demands, but instead the government takes money from the citizens and still fails to fulfill their demands.
