More than 1 billion old Afghani banknotes are torched

bank notes torchedA committee composed of officials from the Afghan Central Bank, National Council and Afghan Senate torched a sum of 1.5 billion eroded Afghani notes.

The torched banknotes, ranging from 1 Afghani to 100 Afghani, were collected from western provinces: Herat, Badghis, Ghor, Farah and Nimroz.

During their visit to Herat, the committee praised Herat Governor Fazlullah Wahidi for his work in promoting the use of Afghani currency in the province.
