President Ghani meets with Afghanistan’s carpet weavers union

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani along with his economy adviser, Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal, and Commerce and Industries Minister, Humayun Rasa, met with Afghanistan’s carpet weavers union.

He thanked the union for creating job opportunities for more than 1.6mn Afghan in the country.

President Ghani assigned the Commerce and Industries Ministry to identify the problems of the Union and address those problems in the next two weeks.

This visit was prior to President Ghani’s meeting with the President of Turkmenistan where cooperation in the growth of carpet industry was one of the topics for discussion.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdi Mohammadov who arrived in Kabul on Thursday pledged to cooperate with Afghanistan in the growth of the carpet industry.
