Russia, Afghanistan discuss expanding ties

Russia KarzaiRussian Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Zamir Kabulov, met with President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday to confer on expanding ties between the two nations.

Kabulov ensured President Karzai that his country would continue to support Afghanistan during its economic and military transition and regarded Moscow as key player in the region.

He appreciated Kabul’s realistic stance on the issue of Crimea and Ukraine.

On his part, President Karzai welcomed Russia’s support and assured Russia that the next president of Afghanistan would work for strengthening ties between the two nations.
