Saudia Arabia signed the contract of building a grandeur Islamic center on a hilltop in central Kabul.
The center, including a university and a mosque, will be named after Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
Estimated to cost up to USD 100mn, the center will house up to 5,000 students and hold 15,000 worshipers at a time.
According to the acting Hajj and religions affairs minister Dayi-ul-Haq Abed, the center will be run jointly by the Saudi and Afghan ministries of religious affairs.
