Ten welfare projects completed in Balkh

The National Solidarity Program (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) has completed ten welfare projects in Balkh province. These projects were implemented in a number of villages of the Charbolak district.

With 10 percent contribution from the public, the project was completed at a total cost of  AFN 16,865,824 (USD 292,606) and includes the construction of 3 social centers, 48 Culverts, drinking wells with hand pumps, and gravelling a 3400-meter rural road. Approximately, 1,684 families in various communities have been able to get access to basic human needs following the completion of these projects.

The NSP has so far covered 934 communities and financed more than 2500 projects in Balkh province in various sectors including water and sanitation, transportation, irrigation, power, livelihoods, education, etc. Around 2,044 projects have successfully been completed, while the work of another around 500 is currently in progress.
