Third turbine of Naghlu power Dam repaired

The third turbine of the Naghlu power dam was repaired and reactivated in the Sarobi district of Kabul on Tuesday.
The World Bank signed the dam’s rehabilitation project, worth USD 40mn, with a Russian company in 2007.
The reactivation of the third turbine increases the power-generating capacity by 25 megawatts.
According to the Energy and Water Ministry official, Eng. Mohammad Ibrahim, the fourth turbine of the dam would be fixed at the beginning of the 2014, which will enhance the capacity from 75 megawatts to 100 megawatts.
