Traders urge immediate clearance of goods at customs

acci meetingIn a meeting arranged by the Kabul Chamber of Commerce and Industries, a group of young traders and entrepreneurs called on the government to resolve the problem of excessive delays in clearance of their goods by the customs officials.

The traders also asked the government to hike the customs duty on substandard quality imports in order to discourage traders from bringing in such products to Afghan market.

The participants also discussed the need for capacity building of the upcoming businessmen.

Head of the ACCI in Kabul Rahmiullah Hamidi said the capacity of the rising entrepreneurs could be development with financial collaboration from the United States Agency for International Development.
