USD 14mn police center launched in Kunar

The foundation stone-laying ceremony of a police center was held in Kunar province on Tuesday.

The facility, being built in Sawakai district of Kunar province, would be completed in two and a half years and would provide job opportunities for 800 people.

Funded by the US, the 14mn police center would help improve the security situation in Kunar.

According to Governor Syed Fazlullah Wahidi, the center  where recruits from other provinces will also be trained, will house 480 public order policemen.

Eng. Hazrat Nabi, an employee on the project, said the 16-block center was being built on 48 acres of land.
