Water and Energy Minister wins trust of the parliament

Water and Energy Minister Mohammad Ismail Khan won vote confidence of the parliamentarians, with only 32 out of 174 MPs voting against him.

Minister Khan was summoned by the lawmakers for his public statement of distributing weapons and establishing the former Mujahidin Shura (council).

Other reasons cited for his impeachment were his failure in implementing development projects in some parts of the country, the slow process in construction and reconstruction of hydro-electric dams and the budget expenditure of the ministry.
