Afghan commander submits silver coins from Aynak Copper Mine to the government

aynak copperAfghan Commander, Lt. Mohammad Naseen Masoudi, handed over 171 coins that were discovered from Aynak Copper Mine to Ministry of Information and Culture.

Deputy Minister Sayed Musadiq Khalili appreciated the Commander for his cooperation in protecting the precious relics.

According to the official, the coins belong to the Mughal era.

“Brigades of the country’s security organ including Ainak copper mine’s protection command and Deputy Minister of Public Protection for MoI have constantly cooperated with Ministry of Information and Culture in prevention of trafficking relics out of the country,” Bakhtar Afghan News quotes Khalili.

The coins were handed over to Omera Khan Masoudi, the Chief of National Museum, for further protection.
