Afghan film, Utopia, will represent Afghanistan in this year’s Oscars award ceremony.

Directed by Hassan Nazar, the film revolves around the story of an Afghan woman who travels to the U.K. for artificial insemination. The film is a co-production between Afghanistan’s Afghanfilm and Nay Media Production, India’s Apus Pictures and the U.K.’s Tripswitch Productions and World Film Production. Nazer’s previous credits include “Black Day” and “Inja Iran”.
