Leonardo DiCaprio wins his first Oscar award

The winners were announced at the 88th Academy Awards[1] in Hollywood Sunday, with Chris Rock serving as host.

Although Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Revenant” led overall with 12 nominations, the Charlize Theron-led action film, “Mad Max: Fury Road” cleaned up in many of the technical categories.

Leonardo DiCaprio also had a memorable night, winning his first Oscar after five nominations.
