Cristiano Ronaldo donates 7mn Euros to Nepal

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has donated 7mn Euros to Nepal to help the nation rebuild itself after the devastating earthquake last month.

He has also called upon his over 100mn fan followers on Facebook to donate to the aid effort in Nepal.

“Help the children affected by #NepalQuake by supporting Save the Children’s relief efforts,” Ronaldo wrote on his Facebook page.

Ronaldo has made similar gestures in the past as well. He flew to the aid of Indonesian tsunami victims back in 2004 after he saw footage of a young boy wearing a Portugal shirt with his name on the back.

He donated 100,000 Euros to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to help rehabilitate Afghans who have lost limbs, mostly as a result of landmines.
