in Featured Articles

FIFA World CupEconomists at Goldman’s Sachs have forecasted football results for the upcoming World Cup.

The economists see Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain as the four semi-finalists.

Brazil is predicted to have a 48.5% chance of Brazil lifting the cup, with a 14.1% chance of Argentina being victorious.

England’s chance of winning the Cup is predicted at 1.4%–a better prospect than Uruguay, Portugal, France and Belgium.

The predictions are based on looking at historical data of mandatory international football matches using complicated mathematical formulas.
