Manmohan Singh Should Quit-Indian MPs Demand

India’s parliament was upset over a recent report that the country lost USD 33bn by selling coalfields cheaply.

India is the one of the largest producers of coal in the world.

The country’s auditors said in the report that the coalfields were allotted without action from 2005-2009.

Oppositions caused uproar over the report as a result of which the parliament was adjourned on Tuesday.

Mr. Singh offered to make a statement in the parliament with regards to the report, but the opposition refused to listen to the statement.

“We just want him to quit,” Prakash Javadekar, spokesman of the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said.
