The Number of the rich in Asia is higher than in North America

According to the latest poll by the Royal Bank of Canada, the number of affluent people in Asia surpasses that of North America for the first time.

The officials from the bank reported that the number of rich people in Asia and Pacific region has increased by 1.6% and has reached 3.37 million in 2011.

Meanwhile, the amount of wealth invested in the Asia Pacific region stands at 10.7 trillion dollars which is less than that of 11.4 trillion dollars in North America.

An individual is defined wealthy if his/her wealth is worth USD 1million dollar or more.

India and Hong Kong are one of the countries that have seen a decrease in their number of wealthy people. India’s number of rich people has declined by 18%, while Hong Kong’s stand at 17.4%.

World economic experts believe that the reduction in the number of rich people in Hong Kong and India followed after the global slowdown and Euro crisis.
