Afghan snooker player takes third place at Asian championship

snooker playerAfghan snooker player, Saleh Mohammad, won the bronze medal at the fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) in South Korea on Saturday.

On his way to the medal, Saleh Mohammad beat Chinese, Korean and Indian rivals. He finally lost to an opponent from China, but still took away the third place medal.

In another sporting event of the AIMAG tournament, Afghanistan’s Mutai National Team won two bronze medals and secured the 16th place overall.

The Asian Championship kicked-off on 26th June in South Korea. The AIMAG were first held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2005, then in Macau, China in 2007, and in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2009.

The competition features 100 events in 12 sports, which include billiards, bowling, chess, futsal, kabaddi, kickboxing and swimming. (Tolo News)
