Afghan U-16 Team to Face Pakistan in South Asian Championship

Afghan U-16Afghanistan’s U-16 national football team will face Pakistan on Saturday in the South Asian Championship in Nepal.

The Afghan U-16 national football team coach, Wahidullah Wahidi, said that the team has been trained well and that it is ready for the South Asian Championship.

“For over four months the team underwent training for the championship. We hope that we perform well in the South Asian Championship,” said Wahidullah Wahidi.

23 Afghan football players will participate in the competition which will begin from July 20 until July 30. The Afghan team is being led by Ali Ahmad. Two coaches, one doctor and a supervisor will accompany the team.

Two Afghan referees Saleh Mohammad and Adibullah Haidari from the U.S. will also participate in this Championship.

Matches will be played between seven South Asian national football teams. Afghanistan will face Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan from Group A.

The other countries participating in the tournament are: Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. (Tolo News)
