Afghanistan steps up to 129th position in FIFA ranking

Afghan football teamIn the updated FIFA world ranking, Afghanistan rose 4 places and now ranks 129th.

Afghanistan won the  2013 South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship after their 3-0 victory against the former SAFF champions, India.

Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan remained unchanged in their ranking. Maldives, Pakistan, Bagladesh, India and Afghanistan improved in updated FIFA ranking.

Iran is currently the top-ranked team in Asia, replacing Japan in the 45th rank.
