Liverpool into the Quarter-Finals of the FA Cup

Liverpool are into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and will play Stoke after overcoming a Brighton side unfortunate enough to concede three own goals.

Martin Skrtel gave Liverpool the lead at the very start of the half-time but it was soon leveled by Kazanga LuaLua by a strike from 25 yards. Brighton’s Liam Bridcutt put through his own net and helped Liverpool dominate the first half with 2-1.

Carroll made it 3-1 after the break with a well-executed finish following an intelligent cut-back by Stewart Downing. It was the big striker’s sixth goal of the season, half of which have come in cup combat. Bridcutt then scored his second own goal followed by another own goal scored by Lewis Dunk.

Luis Suarez missed the penalty kick resulted from Craig Noone’s foul on Drik Kuyt. Suarez made up to this by scoring the 6th goal for Liverpool.

It was a resounding victory for Kenny Dalglish who had warned for a while that his team were ready to dish out a heavy defeat!
