27 developments projects completed in Kunar Province

The National Solidarity Program (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) has completed 27 uplift projects in various districts of Kunar province.

Costing 40,854,000 AFN, the projects are implemented in Asad Abad, Nurgal, Sarkani and Narang districts of Kunar province.

According to NSP Provincial Manager in Kunar province, these development projects encompass the construction of a 1,858-meters long protection wall, a 11,707-meter pathway, a 1,476- kilometer road, 13 public bathrooms, 11 77-kilowatt micro-hydro power, 3 culverts, one water reservoir, 29 wells and a 9,256- meter extension of a water supply network.

Approximately, 3,701 families in various communities have benefited from these projects.

Since its inception in Kunar province, the NSP has covered 940 communities and has been able to execute 2,139 development projects in different sectors including transport, water and sanitation, irrigation, power, livelihoods, education, etc while the work of another 135 is currently in progress.
