33 welfare projects executed in Bamyan province

bamyan soapAfghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) executed 33 welfare projects in consultation with 66 local development councils in Shiaqul and Surkh Joi areas of central Bamyan province.

The projects included asphalting 25 kilometers of roads, 9 small hydropower dams and a 400 meter irrigation water pipeline.

One of the schemes included tailoring course for women, said RRD Director Eng. Ali Sadiqi.

A resident from Shiaqul, Haidari, said local contributed 30% to the projects costs.

Link roads had been built to connect 25 villages with the main highway, he added.

The projects benefit nearly 3,000 families in the areas.
