40% Surge In Herat Land Transport Revenue

The Transport Department of western Herat province has recorded a 40% increase in revenue from land transport this year.

The officials have linked the hike in revenue to anti-corruption efforts and recruitment of professional employees.

According to Pajhwok Afghan News (PAN), the department has generated 61 million Afghanis in revenue from the land transport during the past two months compared to 44 million Afghanis during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, governor’s spokesperson Jelani Farhad said a campaign against corruption was ongoing and added that reforms in the transport department have resulted in transparency and more revenue.
