5 new factories opened in Kandahar’s Industrial Park

industrial park kandaharFive more factories have been established in the industrial park of Kandahar, where there are 72 factories already operating.

According to the officials, 28 more factories are being established.

The five new factories include shoe-making, cooking oil and steel melting.

Kandahar Industrial Parks Director Asadullah said raw materials for the factories arrived from Thailand and other countries, which ensure the good quality of the products.

Meanwhile, concerns about the insufficient electricity supply still remain in the industrial park.

The park is currently being supplied 10MW of power under a contract with the United States Agency for International Development, which is due to expire in September of this year.

Kandahar Breshna Sherkat has promised continued power supply to the industrial park.

The industrial park is serving as one of the main sources of employment for the residents of Kandahar.
