60 tankers of poor quality oil are prevented from entering Afghanistan-Herat officials

Islam qala tankersHerat’s oil and gas department reported that 60 tankers of poor quality oil are prevented from entering Afghanistan this year.

According to the officials, these tankers were coming from Iran.

Director of the oil and gas department Khesraw Abdullah said that the tankers have been extradited back to Iran after being tested by the relevant authorities at the Islam Qala port.

Islam Qala is Afghanistan’s important transit port where million tons of goods and fuel are transported daily.

Recently, the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) reported that the Chamber has undertaken measures for control of goods entering Afghanistan.

According to the Chamber, all goods and fuel imported to Afghanistan shall be thoroughly monitored.

Local officials said that no Afghan or foreign traders will be allowed to import substandard quality of goods and products through the Torghondai and Islam Qala ports.
