Afghan, Iran, Tajik Leaders Sign Economic Cooperation Agreement

A quadrliateral meeting was held on Sunday in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where leaders of Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan signed an agreement to promote and reinforce trade and economic cooperation in the region.

President Karzai and President Ahmadinijad of Iran called for unity and solidarity among the regional countries in order to allow development and peace to be brought in the region.

The mentioned leaders were invited by the government of Tajikista for Nowruz Celebrations. Nowruz marks the first day of the New Year in Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran. The leaders expressed their gratitude and extended their hartiest felicitations to the people of Tajikistan for inviting to join the Nowruz festivities.

President Karzai also inaugurated the Regional Economic Cooperation Conference for Afghanistan (RECCA) in this visit.
